I've never heard of them being called "plantations" before. Cool photo - are the trees actually as bent as they look?
@Summer: Yep, the trees were deliberately planted, partly to replenish the cut-over forests, and possibly for future logging (which has never happened). There are a lot of them around here -- you can tell because they're all one type of tree, nice and equally spaced.Some of the bending is because of perspective, but a few of them are a bit wavy!
