Never occurred to me before, but did you play any RPGs? I was into AD&D for a while (I'll admit it), but I eventually got into Magic: The Gathering (before they nerfed the game). It's a collecting card game and it's all about how you set up your card deck. I loved it because of the probability aspect - having the best cards didn't mean you were going to win, unless you had a strategy for drawing those cards.
