This past weekend, I helped the Lovely Sarah pack up, clean up, and move out of her Madison apartment. She's coming up north again! :D This photo is her refrigerator, as we were cleaning it out. Not much there...
And here's everything else. Looking at the back of this U-Haul, it's amazing how your entire life's worth of stuff can fit into such a small space. It reminded me of moving to Waterloo (Ontario) for my Master's -- everything I needed fit into my little subcompact car, and the front seat was still empty!

Ahh, but there can be a huge difference between "what you need" and "what you have". While "what I need" might still be able to fit in a compact car, "what I have" would probably come close to filling a semi trailer!
I second that on the "what you have". When we moved I rented the biggest U-haul truck you can and it still took 10 or so additional trips with my 5x8 enclosed cargo trailer to get everything.
@Jay -- heh, that doesn't sound fun! I haven't had to do a "real" move yet -- since I'm still a student, my stuff stays pretty lean. But some day it'll have to happen...
